The NL-GSM100 combines handheld gamma surveying and spectroscopy with a NaI(Tl) detector, SiPM readout and Android connectivity for real-time radiation monitoring and analysis.
A 1″ × 1″ thallium-doped sodium iodide scintillator is coupled to a silicon photomultiplier, removing the need for a photomultiplier tube and its high-voltage supply. The integrated signal chain combines a transimpedance amplifier, shaping amplifier, peak detector and 12-bit ADC to acquire a 4096-channel gamma spectrum.
Connect to a compatible Android 7.0+ handset or tablet using USB OTG, or to a PC with USB serial support. Counter mode provides real-time counts per second and dose-rate readings, with configurable dose thresholds, audible alarms and visual indicators.
The Android application displays live spectra with linear or logarithmic scaling. Savitzky–Golay smoothing, continuous wavelet transform peak detection, baseline correction and FWHM measurement support spectrum analysis. User-defined energy calibration and a built-in isotope reference library support manual peak identification.
Capture spectrum screenshots and share them using the Android share sheet. A built-in serial terminal supports diagnostics and direct hardware interaction, while I2C, SPI, UART and GPIO headers support OEM integration.
Applications include environmental and background radiation monitoring, laboratory and facility surveys, NORM/TENORM screening, scrap-metal and cargo screening, emergency response, and research and teaching.
The catalogue package includes the NL-GSM100 detector head with 1″ × 1″ NaI(Tl) crystal and SiPM, a USB OTG cable, the Android application, a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery pack, energy calibration and configuration files, and a quick-start and operating guide. Alternative scintillator types, sizes, display options and enclosure configurations are available on request.
